In celebration of Home Care and Hospice Month, we honor the nurses, therapists and aides who work in this profession for the life-changing work they do. Every day, you make a difference in the lives of others and we are deeply grateful. In recent years, you have stepped up to serve those in need, despite the risks and demands it posed on you. Pediatric Care

Pediatric Care
When a child is medically fragile and needs complex care that requires long-term care, the best place for them to be is at home with their family. Home healthcare makes it possible. In 1987, we partnered with Columbus Children’s Hospital to bring the first pediatric, trach-vent patient safely home. Today, approximately 5.6 million children are receiving medical care at home, enabling them to receive the specialized care they need in a setting that’s best for them and their families. 1 Thanks to medical advances and the ever-increasing, vital role nursing plays, nearly all of the technology and clinical excellence of the hospital is now available at home. The difference is one-on-one, patient-centered care in a loving, familiar environment that enables children to remain at home and live the highest quality of life.

Adult Nursing Care

Adult Nursing Care
Six in 10 adults in the U.S. are living with a chronic disease. 4 Diabetes alone impacts 34 million Americans. 5 Left unmanaged, chronic diseases can lead to life-threatening health issues. Home healthcare provides the specialized care individuals need to manage chronic conditions and long-term care needs so they can live a quality life. Led by owners and operators comprised of 65 percent nurses, we deliver a full continuum of care to meet the evolving needs of our clients, from personal care and support to home health and hospice. And, we provide it in the place where most people want to be—home. The difference it makes can mean greater quality of life for a longer period of time.

Home Healthcare

Home Healthcare
In a new study of more than 1,400 Covid-19 patients, 94 percent of those discharged from the hospital to home healthcare achieved statistically significant improvements in symptom burden and functional outcomes. 3 For seniors in particular, home-based care has become a critical part of Covid-19 recovery. Pioneers in home healthcare, our Rapid Response Team helped lead the charge to care for Covid-19 patients during a critical time in our nation. And, we continue to provide the skilled nursing and therapy individuals need to recover safely and successfully at home today. Overall, home healthcare is proving to reduce hospital readmissions, optimize patient outcomes and provide a better care experience—that’s the difference home makes.

Senior Care

Senior Care
An estimated 70 percent of people receiving home health services in the U.S. are over the age of 65, and 44 percent of them need it for assistance with the activities of daily living. 2 As the nation’s first home care company, we are privileged to help seniors, veterans and others find the personal care and support they need to live safely and independently at home. Partnering together with We Honor Veterans, we consider it a great honor to serve those who so courageously served our country. By helping individuals with daily support needs, they’re able to remain in the home they know and love—and what a difference it makes!
